Prophetic dreams tell you everyone in town will die in three days. Only your thorough investigations into the disturbing and macabre have a chance of saving them.
Deadeus follows the young boy who had the dreams, hoping you’ll lead them in the right direction to save everyone. The only drag is that the correct direction is going to put you in close contact with some sickening places and monstrous beings. You’ll have to work to hold onto your nerve as you explore for clues, as some frightening things mean to stop your journey.
As a young boy, you might not be quite equipped to deal with all of this, or you might not find out everything you need to know in time. Deadeus offers eleven different endings depending on which paths you take through the game, and it doesn’t make much attempt to lead you down any given path. This adventure can end in many different ways, most of them unpleasant, so you’ll really have to think about where to go and what to do.
Deadeus offers some horrifying imagery despite the limitations of the Game Boy, and all while offering a tangled, frightening story that will take a great deal of work to unravel.
Deadeus is available now on itch.io.
